The British Grand Prix 2009 was a fantastic spectacle, where the weather conditions were sunny. Sebastian Vettel started pole position and never looked in any threat of losing the first place throughout the race. He was increasing his lead to even longer every single lap and was alone from the pack for most of the race. Vettel secured his second victory of the season in Britain and was ecstatic about his smooth and straight forward win.
Current table season leader Jenson Button got off to a poor start where he appeared to attempt to over take a car in front of him and was blocked off, leaving him open to be over taken himself. Button was battling hard to regain his position, and finally managed to regain his 6th place start to finish the race. He revelaed that he was dissapointed, but he felt the car had diffulties on the day, especially on the soft tyres.
Webber confortably claimed 2nd and Rubens Barrichello claimed 3rd.
Trulli hung on for seventh for Toyota, while Raikkonen fended off the Italian's team mate Timo Glock, but only just. Behind them, Giancarlo Fisichella took a fighting 10th place for Force India ahead of Kazuki Nakajima in the second Williams.
Lewis Hamilton had a terrible race. It was compromised early on as Renault's Fernando Alonso slid off the track ahead of him but obliged him in turn to go off in avoidance as he jerked back on to the tarmac. That left him embroiled in a fight with the Renaults and the BMW Saubers, which saw all of them lapped.
